The DataGrid Java applet below displays a simple grid from a database. Of course, since this is a simple (unconnected) web site, there is no data server. The data for this sample comes from a text file on the server. The applet reads the data from the server and displays it here in the grid.

Click on the Populate button to begin showing data in the grid. It should show the names of the major moons in the solar system along with their planet, distance from the planet, and diameter.

Now, imagine your real-time data being displayed around the world in the simple grid like this. Your customers will love checking the availability of a product, the status of their order, or a calendar of events ... without picking up the phone. Of course, the DataGrid is only a small sample of what we can do!

* Technical note: We didn't like the SDK grid and table components that were available, so we wrote our own! We've tested it with Sun JVM 1.1, Internet Explorer 5.0, and Netscape 4.0. On Explorer, it scrolls a bit sluggishly, the others run very nicely.
