Seneca Rocks Seneca
Rocks is a beautiful place. The steep vertical cracks are reminiscent of climbing in the
West. It has two main summits, the North Summit and the South Summit. The North Summit can
be reached by hiking up the trail which has a short 3rd Class section near the end. The
total elevation gain is about 900 feet. The South Summit can only be accessed by technical
5th Class climbing, though relatively easy at 5.2. There is a summit register at the top
of the South Summit. |
My favorite routes so far: Critter Crack (5.6) and Thais using West Pole Direct Finish
(5.5 & 5.7).
Photos by Bob Foley unless otherwise noted.

Starting off pitch 2 on Skyline Traverse (5.3). Stepping over the
void. Easy, but exposed. Photo by: Scott Wootten 10/99. |
